I am writing to recommend the excellent work of Core Builders based on our recent experience with two phased affordable housing and senior living residential buildings for the Santa Clara County Housing Authority that currently provides affordable housing options for more than 100 assisted seniors and 82 low-income families.  The buildings were Type V construction over a Type I garage and one building had a subterranean garage.  Both buildings were immediately adjacent to VTA train tracks, and the second phase completed in early 2020.

This project was successfully completed on schedule despite several unforeseen challenges including extensive conflicts with PG&E utilities and the permitting and review scheduling with the local municipalities.   Additional challenges facing the project were incurred with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.  Core’s efforts and diligence made them effectively able to manage the challenges with staffing for both their team and their subcontractors, as well as mitigating the supply chain delays and resource shortages that are still to date being tied to Covid.

Core’s management and on-site personnel are always willing to listen to their client’s needs, work cooperatively to solve potential concerns before they otherwise became a problem or delay to the project. Their commitment and dependability make it easy to refer them for future projects and construction support.
